A Taste Of Reunion At The Reunion Resort In Orlando
BY DEIDRE PADILLA, TIMES STAFF
ORLANDO - It was a special night because The Orlando Times newspaper was one of the few selected media outlets that were invited to the Taste of Reunion at The Reunion Resort. The Reunion Resort is a hidden gem because once you enter the grounds and pass through the guard at the gate you will see the luxurious golf courses, condos, private villas and vacation homes. The golf courses are designed by Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer and Tom Watson. The resort offers a spa, multiple pools, water playground and lazy river. Tonight’s focus was on the Forte Restaurant which is known for Italian cuisine, Eleven Restaurant which features a rooftop pool and every night you can watch the fireworks from Walt Disney World. When we arrived at the front of The Reunion Resort they offered complimentary valet parking. Once we walked into the lobby they had a cocktail hour which had a Sushi Bar. After the Sushi Bar we went into the Forte Restaurant. The Forte Restaurant is located on the main floor. It has a warm and cozy atmosphere. Chef Russell Stehle presented the unveiling of new menu items. We got started with watermelon with feta cheese and a tiny mint leaf on top then Panzanella Salad which was delightful. The Braised Beef Short Rib with mushroom risotto was so tender it melted in my mouth, the grilled shrimp was tasty and both were piled high on top of a generous portion of fried leaks. Diners will be packing this restaurant out to find out what the buzz is all about. After tasting this fine cuisine we went to the rooftop restaurant called Eleven. It is located on the 11th Floor of the Resort. This is definitely a Hot Spot in Orlando. Chef Brad presented a description of the mini dessert display and cocktails were served. The desserts were all scrumptious it was difficult to choose a favorite. Eleven serves more than just desserts, they also serve premium steaks and the finest wines. After your meal you can walk out to the balcony, take in the sunset and watch the fireworks. You can enjoy the live entertainment on Friday nights. Both of these restaurants are great for a romantic night out, it is also kid-friendly, or celebrate a special occasion. It is a convenient choice if you are staying on property or if you live in the Orlando area. These restaurants are open to the public and you don’t have to book a hotel room to enjoy a night out on the town. For more information call (877) 724-2106 or visit www.reunionresort.com .
