Head Start Students-The Orlando Times
ORLANDO – On Friday, February 3, 2017, Senator Randolph Bracy and the Retirees and Friends of Orange County Community Action and Head Start, Inc. sponsored a distribution event which was held at the Hal Marston Center. Through charitable giving from local and state organizations, the monetary donations were used to purchase uniform shirts that were distributed evenly amongst the Head Start students located within Senate District 11. Educational books and supplies were donated and housed at the Hiawassee Head Start location and will be available for use by all Head Start children and staff.
Orange County Head Start provides high quality, comprehensive services to approximately 1536 low-income children and their diverse families by providing supportive learning educational environments. There are 10 Orange County Head Start Centers located in Senator Bracy’s district. The Retirees and Friends of Orange County Community Action and Head Start, Inc. is a nonprofit organization composed of individuals such as former educators and community advocates who serve as allies to the Head Start program and their initiatives.
“It was my honor and privilege to support the Orange County Head Start students and their staff members who are doing remarkable work in preparing these young students in our community for school. These children education is extremely important and Head Start is equipping them with the tools to be successful. To the students, I believe in you, I believe that you all will be great and do amazing things in life,” said Senator Bracy.
