ORLANDO - On Friday, March 8, 2019, the Orlando Magic played host to the Dallas Mavericks. This game proved to be one of phenomenal proportions as the Magic are fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive as well as this being the final game that The City Beautiful will witness Dallas's veteran forward, future hall of famer Dirk Nowitzki in action as he retires after this season. It was a close knit game through all four quarters; however, scoring from the bench proved to be just what the Magic needed to get them to victory. Terrence Ross led all scoring with a game high of 22 points from the bench. All five starters scored in double figures, with all-star center Nikola Vucevic providing a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. The Mavericks would not go down easy as rookie sensations Luka Doncic & Jalen Brunson both had strong offensive performances, with Doncic leading his team in scoring with 24 points and Brunson providing the second highest scoring with 18 points. Fortunately, the Magic were able to defeat the Mavericks with a final score of 111-106. The Magic's next home game will be against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday, March 14th at 7:00PM.
