The 4th Annual MLK South Street Jazz And Blues Cookout 2017! To Celebrate The Life And Legacy Of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
BY JIMMIE WILLIAMS
ORLANDO - The reason why I choose to use this picture is to show you how the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., has changed our lives. It has enabled us to experience some struggles of life that he and his wife experienced. We understand how it must've felt for them at that time when they were trying to bring family and friends together to show them a better way of life. Trying to show them how we all can walk as one, as a human race of people. After listening to Dr. King's speeches over the years, I finally got it! Someone must continue his work as we move forward into the future. We're nothing like Dr. King, but just like him we want to help this world to be a better place to live. I love the part where he says that, "we all will walk together." Those are some very powerful words. We're all working towards the same goal and that is to live in peace. My wife and I put a lot of thought into what we do and say. We work hard bringing community partners together for the good of all human kind and communities. On January 7, 2017 we will present this year's event to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. One of this nation's finest leaders of all time. We're asking for all communities to come out and help us celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.ís legacy. As the kids from our communities take the stage to read and talk about some of our civil rights leaders. I love having a great time, but I love to have a greater time when we're teaching our kids about our history. This year is going to be something special because I will say this. I think this is going to be a big event this year. My phone has not stopped ringing because people are calling and trying to buy tickets to a free event. Lol. We have a great lineup for this year's event with comedian A-Train, Gospel singer Son Jae, TJ Bristol and P.O.P, Jazz Player Don Black, Mega City Radio and Rap Artist 95 South. So bring your lawn chairs and blankets for the concert. There will be two stages. One on the inside and one outside. The King stage is outside and The Legend stage will be inside of the John H. Jackson Center at 1002 W. Carter Street, Orlando Florida, 32805. Prepare yourselves for a very exciting day of fun for the whole family. Commissioner Regina I.
