BY JIMMIE WILLIAMS
ORLANDO - Look at District 6. Stop it I say. Lol! We just look good that’s all to it, so don't get mad. Lol! We sent out flyers, emails and text messages. Hey it okay. Don't cry, we'll see you next year, same time, same place. Let me get serious! City Commissioner Samuel B. Ings is at it again giving back to his district in a big way. He helped families in his district with back to school supplies and book bags. That was awesome done in District 6. The Orlando Magic ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw along with Malika Harrison, Director of Social Responsibility and other Orlando Magic staff also giving back to the community in a big way. As always City Commissioner Samuel B. Ings of District 6 hosted a great event in his district. The families that needed to get school supplies and book bags did the walk that started at the Washington Shores Shopping Center and ended at the James R. Smith Neighborhood Center where the back to school event was held. Along with the back to school supplies was free food. So you know I was in line, right! City of Orlando Police department was there assisting in any way to make the event better as well as keeping us safe. Somebody may have wanted to take my free food. Maybe my hamburger or hot dog. What I saw on those parents and kids faces when they were leaving the building with those back to school supplies was relief. I think that half way through the school year someone needs to host a school supplies event ensuring that kids of all ages have enough school supplies to last throughout the school year. Hey it's just me thinking out loud! Happy Back To School Day!
