OCPS Hosts “Parent Academy”
ORANGE COUNTY - Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) Parent Academy is a district-wide initiative designed to enhance student achievement through the support of community and family involvement. From research, we understand that students achieve more when parents are involved in their child’s education. The OCPS Parent Academy is committed to our vision of being the top producer of successful students in the nation. In order to accomplish this goal, we know that it is vital to strengthen our partnership by bridging the gap between the home, school, and the community through the provision of valuable resources.
Through the Parent Academy classes, we provide FREE parental development skill-building workshops, specialized parental support, educational events, and activities for families throughout the school year. The Parent Academy offers a variety of courses for parents and the community members ranging from academic support, health care, to emotional and financial management.
The Parent Academy focuses on three primary tracks:
Student Achievement, Parenting and Advocacy, and Personal and Individual Growth
The Parent Academy provides a wide range of information enabling parents to make informed decisions about their child’s educational journey. From this page, one can find information about back to school, enrollment, food services, and school calendars. Individuals can also read the Orange County Board of Education’s Mission, Vision and Core Beliefs, which sets the broad policy goals for our district. We hope that everyone will take advantage of these wonderful opportunities to assist us in leading all children to academic success.
On behalf of the Parent Academy staff, thank you for choosing Orange County Public Schools, and we look forward to a successful partnership!
