NAACP Our Family TableEvent Will Celebrate Veterans
BY JOHN H. CUMMINGS, EdD.
ORANGE COUNTY - The OCFL NAACP "Our Family Table" Thanksgiving Community Experience is scheduled to be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Veterans Day, Thursday, November 11, 2021. The event will honor two (2) veterans of our Orange County Community with the Brooks-Williams Service Award in recognition of the awardees' service to our Nation and our community. The Brooks-Williams Service Award is named for two past branch presidents: the late Rufus C. Brooks and the late Willie H. Williams. They both very graciously served their country in the armed services and also our Orange County Community as local branch presidents. We honor them by honoring and celebrating all our armed services members who have devoted their lives to our country and to national and local leadership. The Thanksgiving event is for the community to commune with one another over a seasonal meal and simultaneously to “get a meal and to gift a meal.”
This beneficial inaugural event is scheduled to be held from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm on November 11 at a spacious socially distanced location in downtown Orlando on Church Street between S. Division Avenue and S. Hughey Avenue. Tickets can be purchased at https://ourfamilytable.evenbrite.com by 9:00 pm November 4th. For the cost of only $30.00 an individual ticket you get both your meal and donate a gift meal to a needy person in the community being identified by our cooperating community supporters and sponsors. Community, business, and corporate table sponsorship are also available and welcomed. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
