ORLANDO - Happy New Year! So You Want Your Name In Lights (SYWYNIL) resumes its monthly TEEN TALENT SHOWCASES for the 2022 Season beginning on Saturday, January 15th, at 12 noon (Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday). Each 2-hour showcase will be held at Bar 5 Lounge and Grill in the West Oaks Mall, 9401 W Colonial Drive, Ocoee, Florida 34761.  Youth, ages 12 17, are encouraged to compete by singing (any music genre), dancing, playing an instrument, rapping, performing a stand-up comedy routine, or spoken word poetry. Each month's finalist(s) will be selected and provided an opportunity to perform again during the 2022 ShowcaseSeason Finale (non-compete) for scholastic awards that support various educational pursuits.  All showcase participants are expected to attend a mandatory, yet motivational, Mentor Teen Talks session conducted immediately prior to each showcase. Our January facilitator is Steven Salter, Professional Health Therapist/Masseur.

Showcase registrations and audience attendance are FREE.  The talent application can be downloaded from the service page at www.nameinlights.org and must be submitted 3 days prior to each scheduled showcase.  Only ten (10) participants (solo or group) will be allowed per showcase event; and performances are a maximum 3-minutes duration.

During the 2021 Showcase Season, six finalists received a share in over $3,000 cash awards that were used for academia options such as graphics design, computer software applications, film production, veterinarian management, private music lessons, and college tuition support for music engineering courses.
