Work in the District

Wells Fargo HOPE USA, Parramore Main Street District And Keep Orlando Beautiful Doing Some Much Needed Work In The District!

ORLANDO - So on most Saturday mornings I get up and go for my morning ride. I'm drinking coffee, listening to music and just looking over my neighborhood during my ride. Lol,my wife tells me I am doing my hero ride, because I like to go driving around to see what's going on in our communities. Lol, but anyways during my morning drive I saw people gathering at Parramore Avenue and South Street. At first I thought it was a game going on or something, but I was wrong. It was Wells Fargo HOPE USA, Keep Orlando Beautiful and the ParramoreMain Street District. They were all waiting for Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and City Commissioner Regina I. Hill of District 5 for the kick off to the event. Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer welcomed everyone and talked about some of the history behind the event. He also said that he made a proclamation back in 2003 because of the sweat equity that was put in to the Parramore area over two decades. One of his sayings back in the days was "Watch me by what I do in Parramore". So the group of volunteers was there to help plant flowers, trim trees, paint and pick up trash in the Parramore area. The people that were there were local business owners, volunteers and residents.  Putting in the work in Parramore with Wells Fargo Strengthening Communities Together, Keep Orlando Beautiful and the Parramore Main Street District was an awesome way to end the year of 2021. As a Parramore resident I'd like to say keep up the great work in the districts. The owner of Transformation Beauty Salon was in attendance and like myself she has been in the Parramore district for decades. Her love for the district is as real as it gets. The owner of Transformation has sponsored community events such as "The Come And Get It Awards, Jump For Joy Gospel Explosion & The MLK South Street Jazz and Blues Cookout. She is also a past recipient of The Come And Get It Awards. So if you're out in any district doing good work be on the lookout because on Saturday mornings I could be driving through your neighborhood for my hero ride and catch you doing something good in your community. Lol! Keep up the good work in 2022! Remember we're living in the vacation capital of the world, the City Beautiful, The Greater Orlando.Don't Meet Me There, Beat Me There!
